Do they make 48MB SD cards? I thought they came in 32MB, 64MB, 128MB, 256MB,
and 1GB.

This raises a good point. Including a 48MB SD card for updates in the
package of the Braille Note mPower seems to me like a worthwhile investment.

I was looking at installing the most recent patch but the process looks
awfully silly. I can only install from an SD card less than 512 but
more than 48 megabytes. Not from a CF card and presumedly not from an
external hard drive.

Why?

As I don't have an SD card, does this mean i should have been advised to
purchase one by Humanware? If an SD card is the only way to install
upgardes surely it should be part of the basic kit.

Perhaps I am missing something here?
