Hi Shannon, I see you've received a number of answers already, however I suspect you are dealing with a bug we have at this point yet to squash where sometimes the speech does indeed stop working. This does not mean the unit has locked up. For example, if this happens to you in the Word Processor, exit to the Main Menu and then do a reset. You shouldn't have lost any data. This is an inconvenience and I apologise for it, we hope to get this one squashed in a future release.

ON occasion, while I am brailling away, the speech will suddenly stop and nothing I can think of to do besides hitting the reset button will bring it back. I've only had the mPower BT for 9 days and in the early days it was probably the fault of my fingering--getting used to the keys etc., which caused me to do something to stop speech. But last night, after days of not having this problem, I was reading backwards through a sentence in the book reader program, a word at a time, moving rapidly but not excessively so through the words when the speech stopped again. I tried to exit book readerg with space plus e but no speech. The only way to get it back was to hit the reset button. I don't like doing this because it worries me. I poked around through the index of the user's guide to see if there were any topics on speech--shutting it off--getting it started again etc., but I found nothing that sounded right. Is there a key combination that I could press on the mPower when speech stops to make it speak again, aside from the reset button? Any help is much appreciated and thanks to all in advance.
