You'll need the braille note gps software made by sendero group.  The
hardware can be purchased from elsewhere as different receivers do indeed
work with the braille note.  However, the one that is recommended has been
thoroughly tested and is supported should you run into problems and need
assistance from their tech support staff.

Does this mean that one could in theory buy a GPS receiver from somewhere

Also, what all is required to run GPS on the braillenote?  I know HW sells a
package of everything you need but I think I could do without some of the
things in package but I am not sure.

Appreciate anyone taking the time to explain this to me.  I am eager to use
GPS but the wallet is not quite that deep.
