Hi Steph, what you're experiencing is ActiveSync and JAWS fighting for control of the same serial port. The best thing to do is to go into the connectivity settings of ActiveSync and uncheck the serial choice.

However, I'm having few problems using it as a braille display. Firstly, I can't just connect the display. I have jaws set up to use my braille note. But when I connect my serial cable, I can't see anything when I get the braille note in to the braille terminal. The only way I can get it working is to reboot my computer... or shut down jaws and restart it. Then Microsoft active sync comes up and says something about no able to open the port, or the device in not recognized. How do I get around all this? Thanks for your help.
