Julie and Mary Ellen,
I installed activesync version 8.0 and I used the PK version 6.0 to
establish a partnership and a successful connection with my pc and the PC
at a training center. both times I could see all the directories on the
pk. I moved files from the pc to the PK and I put them on the compact
flash cards both times that I remember doing this.
the connection was established immediately and it turned the PK on both
times. Now I am sure I did this a few more times before I decided that it
was easier just to put the files on the compact flash disk rather than
going through activesync and the pc. but it did work and it was
successful.
We used the guest partnership to move files between the pc and the PK.
The instructor then told me that the first partnership I forget it's name,
maybe host, was for syncing email. Well I never wanted to download email
with the PK so I never used that first partnership. But both were marked
automatically. All I had to do was arrow up or down between the two and
they were both marked.
We used the standard usb cable for this operation and I used two different
cables. I used one at the training center and my own which came with the
PK. But do remember, I didn't use the version of Activesync that came on
the cd with the PK. I got a later one.
Good luck.
Isaac
