Dear Leslie, I agree with others, be careful and think hard before you swap. Both BrailleNote and PacMate look similar enough, but they're different beasts, for different types of people, I think, wanting different forms of access. You must decide what needs your BrailleNote is not meeting and then either talk these over with friends on the list or Humanware directly then, if you wish, talk over these needs with users of the PacMate and make an informed decision.
We did it the other way round. We purchased PacMates and for various reasons neither of us quite got where we wanted to get with them. Now we have one of each, with one PacMate which may or may not be sold eventually. I'm enjoying the best of both worlds meantime and really do believe that (rather unexpectedly) I have the best of both! Having said that, if I had to choose between the two, I'd easily choose BrailleNote. The mPower has the "thumbs up" in this household! We're not sorry about our decision to change because it was the right way for us to go. Yes, all I'm saying is "Be careful and look hard before you make any move"!
