I know, I have Gold Wave. But being able to compress files right on the BN would let me record a lot more before I ran out of memory. Even a .flac encoder is better than nothing. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sarai" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

You can do it with Gold wave but not from the BN.

Hi Jonathan,

Is it possible to save audio as any other file format? I'd understand if
you
didn't want to pay to use a .mp3 encoder to compress files, but why not,

say, a .wma encoder? Aren't those free?

Hi Richard. Yes, it is possible to send voice recordings via e-mail,
but you'll need to be conscious that wave files can be very big, as
big in this case as 5 MB per minute. So for e-mail transmission,
you'll probably elect to make some quality compromises and send the
files say as 8 kHz 8 bit mono
files. They won't sound that hot but at least they won't clog up
someone's
mailbox and take forever to send.
