Hi, Jennifer,

You can't actually "get rid" of the markers, but you can go to the options 
menu, select braille display options and choose "show new lines in reading 
mode as."  You have the following choices: linear, indent 1 cell, indent 2 
cells, 2 spaces, 3 spaces.  Indent 1 cell works best for me.
