I have checked out Jonathan's demo and I'm not getting the same levels of
quality with settings that he was using. That's why I came to the list.

Adjust the settings to their highest. The lower the settings the worse
off the the recording. I suggest checking out Jonathan Mosen's Braille
Note MPower demo from the web site.

Subject: [Braillenote] RECORDING WITH THE INTERNAL MICROPHONE
Hi, everyone,
Now that I have my email set up, I'm on to something new; thus, a
brand-new
problem.
I am attempting to record with the internal microphone. These aren't
serious recordings; they're just practice sessions. I know that I can
test
the recordings so that's not really a problem. However, I thought that
if I
just used the default settings that I could get something, but I've
tried
recording the radio and my voice, and nothing is heard but a little
static
and the recordings are truly awful. However, if I have speech turned on
on
the BrailleNote, the recordings come through, as long as they are the
BrailleNote's speech recordings, although a little loud, but I can deal
with
that. My question is why am I not getting even halfway decent
recordings
when I record my voice with the internal microphone, or any other
outside
source, such as a radio? I would appreciate any thoughts from any of
you
who have recorded a lot. I understand that you can adjust the sound
quality, but I would have thought that I'd get something, no matter how
bad.
