I have done all of that. The thing is just as frozen and immobile as it was when I went to bed last night.

Mary ellen;
Make sure you are plugging the ac adapter directly in to the wall. do not
use one of those boxes that will take about 6 cords. I tried long ago and
it did not pick up the power. To tell if it is getting any power, the ac
adapter will get a little worm, not much at al, just a little.

Sorry, did all of that and no-thing!
There is a big problem because this thing is not seeing the charger and we
have had it plugged in for 4 hours and I am still getting the critical
battery message so it isn't charging. I kind of think its the charger which
is doing this.
Itsnot treally been at 100% since I have had the thing so something is
definitely wrong.

1. Press the 1 and 4 CONTROL keys simultaneously until the "ON" beep
sounds. IF the "OFF" beep is the initial audible cue, however, repeat the

process until the unit switches "ON".

2. Perform a 1-2-3 reset by pressing the 3-4 CONTROL keys and the 1-2-3
keys simultaneously until the start-up buzz sounds. Immediately depress
the CONTROL keys, but don't release the lefthand keys before the opening
cue chimes.  HTH
