A support person from Humanware has advised me to use caution in the amount of time I spend exercising the braille display because the pins could be over stressed by too much rapid movement much more than they would ordinarily move. In other words, you might want to use speech to say "i'm talking until my battery runs flat" to calibrate the battery, for example, rather than to always exercise the braille display. I think that Ronda clark's suggestion of exercising the display for three minutes is a wise one.

This problem of m I was instructed on how to remove certain files and then rebuild them with a reset. The individual that had the problem might want to do a cell test where you test all 32 cells with different dots to see if the problem occurs.

Regards, everyone.issing dots reminds me of my recent problem where one of my files were corrupted and thus caused a problemAt 02:12 PM 7/10/2005, you wrote:

Lots of fun. When I want my battery to completely die so that I can plug it
in for a good charge, I exercise the braille display. I start when it's
reached about 0 percent. You can get the percent, I believe by starting at
the main menu.
Then hit O with space for option.
P for level.
That'll give you the percent.
But if you hit O-spacebar for option, then I with space for support
information,
then C it will give you the "nominal available charge."
you can hit quite a number of the letters for their read-outs in that
support information mode.
A is the accuracy of the gauge.
B gives possible information about the last charge.
C gives the nominal available charge.
d gives the last measured Discharge.
E gives the end of discharge voltage.
f will do for the speech what X does for the braille--exercises the speech
till you and it goes crazy or flat, which ever comes first.
L will give info about the last discharge--or it is supposed to, mine never
does.
S will tell you whether the braille note is charging or discharging,
depending, of course on whether it is plugged in or not.
T gives something about the temperature of the surroundings.
V gives the cell voltage.
and X will eXercise the braille display till it dies out, if you let it.

Best,
Penny
