Thanks Phoenix. Yes, you helped with some of what I need to know. It's
a bit scary attempting this, but I'll read the instructions again and
maybe give it a try later this week.

Not sure about where you should back up your files, since I put mine
on a storage card, which I think would be the safest bet, because I
had a situation where I had to do a hard reset and all the folders and
files I had created on the flash disk got completely wiped out. This
of course is a PK, so not sure of what happens on a classic, or MP.
Anyway, to answer yor other question. the new data base you create has
to be access through key list. It will not show up on the main menu
Just go to address. It should give you a prompt asking which database
you want to enter. If the database isn't already selected, justgo down
the list. Hope this helps

Subject: [Braillenote] backing up a database file
Okay. I want to try creating a database. I know I should first
backup my address list. The manual says I should use the backup and
restore feature to do this, and that backups are usually done to an
external storage card or to a network. Well, I don't have any of
those at this time, so I was wondering if it would be okay just to
copy the files into a separate folder for safe keeping. And which
file, exactly would that be?
Also, after a database is successfully created, does its name then
appear under Main Menu as in A for address book, p for planner, etc.?
How do you then access it for use?
