Roger Behm,

I read your post about Braille.ini again and again. I know I must have it
for myself. I understand that you talked about between 2 notetakers. I
wonder if it supports between PK and PC? I guess I must use the Computer
Braille mode on PK.

Subject: [Braillenote] two way braille terminal with window-eyes

        Hi Folks,

I saw someone was asking about the feature that was available with
window-eyes 4.5 in using your braillenote bt or qt as a two way braille
display.
I had asked Dug of GW Micro and Jonathan of HumanWare where this geature
has gone, since I thought it would have been put in to Window-eyes 5.0. Dug
said he hadn't heard from Jonathan about finalizing this brailel.ini
file that is inserted in to the wineyes folder on your computer, and Dug
would be very happy to include it in the next window-eyes release..

So I took the file and edited it with notepad, the window-eyes 4.5 and 5.0
braille.ini file and inserted it in to my wineyes 5.0 folder.

I tested it just today with the new MPower QT unit, since I wanted to see
if you could use it with the QT model.
sure enough you can use this braille.ini file with either the MPower QT or
BT and the classic QT and BT braillenotes.

when using the QT models, you must use the s d f and j k l keys for your
six dot input.

I did notice some issues with punctuation marks in uncontracted braille
input, since you must on the BT units use uncontracted braille to input
your letters and words. That goes for the QT model using the s d f j k l
keys for uncontracted braille too.

It would be nice if Jonathan or someone at HumanWare would finalize this
brailel.ini to correct the punctuation issue with the feature of two way
braille display with window-eyes. I find it to be a great feature for users
of the BrailleNote QT or BT and Window-eyes, especially for deaf-blind
users as a two way communication device.
I do have the edited braille.ini file with the noted bugs in punctuation,
if someoen wants it email me off list and I can send it to you as a
attachment.
  Roger Behm
