You're right about high school students using statistics functions. We
had a whole unit on that stuff.
Also, what do you think about the fact that the center of the system is
the main menu? I mean, if you keep pressing z-chord, you eventually end up
back at the main menu, where as on a computer, you don't just keep pressing
escape to get back to the start menu. Just a thought.

Hi Arthur,
I'm in full agreement with you about Keysoft. I received my Keynote XL
in 1988 and found it easy to learn. The menu system is more user friendly
in my opinion, not to mention the context-sensitive help available at all
times. I never owned any other Keynote products, even though I briefly
used a couple of them, but I still found all the concepts the same when I
purchased my classic VN. This made my learning curve easier than
expected.
I think statistical functions would be nice for Keyplus. Students are
often asked to find the standard deviation in exams, and quite often I had
to leave these questions blank because Keyplus was unable to do this. In
my HSC 13 years ago, I had to get somebody to do this for me after I had
told them which numbers to enter into their calculator. I do think it's
great that Keyplus will be able to handle fractions in Keysoft 7, but
statistical functions would be great as well. Even though I do not use
the calculator much these days, these functions would come in handy for
those who do, particularly high school students.
Just my thoughts.
David

Hi. As a user of the very first keynote products, I continue to be amazed
by the consistancy of the keysoft interface, even as new features continue
to be added. The menu's have basically stayed true to the original
keysoft from 1986/7, which pleases me. What do others think?
On the features front, just a couple of things.
1. Addition of statistical, conversion and financial functions to the
calculator.
2. Ogg file playback and possibly recording in the media centre.
3. Insttant messaging.
4. Any sign of the promised SDK?
Are these features planned?
well, thanks for any replies.
Arthur.
