The confusion lies in the date format. Here's the quote:
I will be out of the office starting 23/12/2005 and will not return until
04/01/2006.
Since the date is written 23/12/2005, meaning the 23rd of December, and the
other date was written 04/01/2005, it stands to reason that this would mean
the 4th of January. If the date is written before the month for one date,
then the same will hold true for the other date. I hope this clears things
up and doesn't cause more confusion. <Smiles>
