Hi, all an addendum to my last message.
I have re-read the manual (having downloaded it onto my PC) and it does not make clear that the mPower may have to complete more than one cycle before the recalibration process is finished. I quote: 5. What KeySoft does next depends on how much charge is left in the battery at this time, however it is all automatic. It may not start up initially but when the process gets to the point of discharging the battery, KeySoft will talk repetitiously to help it to do so, thus the need to choose a spot where the noise won't bother you. Once the battery is flat, KeySoft will automatically initiate the recharging cycle. When the whole cycle is complete, KeySoft will display: "Battery Test Completed." While my unit didn't say that and had begun to discharge the battery for a second time when I originally tried calibrating, the above did not make it clear to me that I had to leave the thing for however long it took to say "battery test completed". Indeed the phrase "the whole cycle" seemed to back up my assumption that, like the classic, I'd only have to go through this process once to recalibrate correctly. A trap for young players? Well, some of us at least! Any help appreciated.
