Thanks, Lisa. And thanks for that comment. You almost sounded like Jonathan
Mosen. In summary, you were basically saying that when buying a notetaker, you
need the notetaker that helps you finish yo rtask effeciently (that was what
Jonathan Mosen advocated for.) By the way, in behalf of all of the users, I
would like to thank Jonathan for advocating for us how important it is to do
our task effeciently.
p.s. for Lisa: you are not the only person to ask the list for information
between two products (there is a post on the list archive about 'mPower VS. PAC
Mate'.)

Hi Everyone,
I'd like to thank those people who kindly wrote to me and provided feedback
about my post from a couple days ago about the MPOWER versus the Braille Sense.
Here's what I look for in a notetaker or any piece of technology I want to
purchase.

These priorities aren't in any particular order. 1. The Braille display I
didn't realize how much I liked having a Braille display until I got my
Braillenote. Before that I used a Braille 'tion Speak and Window Eyes so
everything was done auditorily. The more Braille cells the better.

2. Being able to read the Braille display without having to move my hands to
navigate the Braille display. I love the thumb keys on the Braillenote and when
they don't work I'm at a loss as to how to proceed.

3. Being able to use the Email and surf the Internet both of these are
important to me personally and professionally.

4. Being able to send and receive important information in emails. For example
if I was taking a college class I'd like to receive my handouts via email.

5. Being able to handle wordprocessing functions from simple to complex. By
complex I mean writing college papers getting them formatted. I know this would
be better to do with a PC but I never became confident in using a PC.
6. Portability something that's easy to carry around.

7. Battery life how long the battery lasts before it needs to be charged

8. Being able to operate the unit while it remains in its case.

9. Being able to input information using a BT keyboard. I would hate to use a
;Qwerty keyboard. I don's miss it at all.

5. Being able to use the notetaker for math classes. Using it to input the
problems and print them out in print so it looks nice for teachers or
professors. I'm thinking more of my students here. I'm not taking any math
classes now but if I ever needed any. I hate math so I wouldn't sign up for a
math class for fun.

6. Being able to read books. I love reading books from Web Braille or
Bookshare. For some reason I refuse to read audio books. Not sure why I've
developed this mind set.

7. Being able to listen to radio stations, download MP3 files, and listen to
those files. It would be nice to be able to listen to an MP3 file while writing
in a document or reading a book with the book reader.
8. Tech support the company's responsiveness to their customers questions.

Hope all of these priorities make sense.
I thought I'd post them so people have an idea of what is important to me when
considering the purchase of a notetaker.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Lisa
