Hi Terri and list,

I put it on plastic so it should have been here by now. I'll check into it Monday or Tuesday. I'm not concerned whether it arrives by Christmas or not. I agree! New Year's presents are just fine too. I hope it works on your Embosser as well. That would be wonderful!

Dear Jim,

I'm sure the converter will work with embossers sold by Enabling
Technologies. A man on another list I belong to said the infrared to
parallel converter was a "slick" device and he liked it and I believe he
said he used it with a BrailleNote.

Now, whether it will work with MY embosser is another matter.

My order got held up because I had to sign a letter confirming the order.

Perhaps you should call Enabling Technologies and find out what happened to
your order. You ordered yours earlier than I did.

I'm looking forward to receiving my New Year's present and if this device
works, I will be in seventh heaven!

: Yes, you are right! The Edgeport converter is USB, that's true. You can

: Humanware and around $160 from other sources. One could easily buy a good

is

:
: I did write you a post on how I thought you could emboss from the serial
: port of your RB25. I'd be happy to send you that again if you think that
: would be helpful.
:
: I too agree I'd rather emboss from a parallel port but the new changes in
: the M-power make us have to deal with the USB port somehow so we can again
: emboss from the parallel port. For me, this has been
: inconvenient. Perhaps I'll need to shell out those bucks but if I can
: avoid itk, I will do so. I think $72 is much better than $160 or $235.
It
: is up to you though!
