..Yeah, now they tell me it has a rebate, three weeks after I buy it. Great. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sarai" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Ouch!
Singular has the phone for $200 w/ a contract and the software has a
rebate as well. This is sad.

This is sadly typical of the times we live in. I saw a website trying to

sell a 6620 phone with MObilespeak on it for over $800. It's very sad.

Hello List,
In the September 2005 edition of The Matilda Ziegler Magazine, on
page
77, in the Special Notices Column, (this is the Braille edition) C.
J.
Sampson has two ads.
The first, quote: "Laptop, Braille Items. C. J. Sampson recommends
that
blind people, instead of buying a notetaker, purchase a miniature
Laptop
Computer. His company, lablelq dot com will consult as to which unit
best
fits your needs and will explain how to order it with a carrying case
and,
if wished, a miniature Braille display. You thus pay much less for
something that is the same size as, but much much more powerful than,
specialized assistive equipment. His company charges a consulting fee
of
$50. Unquote. The rest of this ad gives his phone numbers and Email
addresses.
The second ad, Quote: Mr. Sampson will also sell a PowerBraille 80
Braille display for $1,450 and an Index Basic Advanced Embosser for
$950.
Unquote. The ad ends with an E-Mail address.

I did not provide the contact information except in his company's
name
in the first ad. I am sending this warning for the benefit of new
subscribers to the list and those who may be interested in a warning.
I
did not check the internet for the validity of this information, but
the
editor of the Matilda Ziegler Magazine disavows all responsibility for
ads
they publish. This is a case of "let the buyer beware!"

I will not apologize for taking list space with this message. I know
that
it certainly does not relate to Humanware product issues, but because
Mr.
Sampson is such a crook and cheat, I thought a warning to people, many
on
fixed incomes, might be appreciated.

Sammie D. Clay
