Hi, Pam:

Selective access is certainly possible. We almost, but not quite, have it working here in the office. <smile> People on this list are great at helping. But you may need someone involved who can look at each of the machines and make the proper settings. If you want to know more about drive mapping, peer-to-peer networking, minimizing security risks and other networking issues, I can recommend Chapter 7 of the Windows XP in a Nutshell book available from Bookshare. It quickly convinced me of two things: first, I'm going to enjoy learning more about how this stuff is supposed to work; second, until I've learned all that, I need professional assistance if I want a solution this side of next year. <smile> If you have a professional help you with the network, look for one who asks lots and lots of questions about what you want in a general sense and who is willing to take the time to explain the different options as you make the numerous choices involved in getting a network to work properly. As Don Bishop and others have explained, getting the Braillenote or M'Power to share files with an already-existing network can be fairly straightforward, after you've learned a few new words and concepts. I have learned that adding selective access to a network brings on several additional levels of complexity, which means that lots more things can go wrong unless they are made to go right.

Good luck.

That does help actually, and I was just able to set the permissions to
share my music folder. But now having done that, if I go to the other
computers on our network, I can't find it listed anywhere. So now that
I've shared it, where do we access it in the other computers?
