No problem,
Keep in mind that storing info on a thumb drive, compact flash card, or
SD card is safer than storing on a floppy disk. As for printers, you can
also print via infored with both the classics and the M Power and with
Blue tooth and usb via the M Power.

Thanks Sarai...

Thank you very much we have managed to translate files successfully!!!

Just to clarify.. I meant that accessing a disk drive and learning to
translate files as apprpriate would be a valuable tool that could (to
some degree) be generalized to the use of a jump/thumb drive. We are
glad to see that BN has USB ports which will allow students greater
access to printers instead of being restricted to those still using
serial ports.. and allowing them more flexibility =-)

Kimberly,
Make sure your translating the file to a Microsoft word file before
saving it to a disk. This process can be done via the translation menu
in the file manager, or through keyword with space with s then saving
the file as a different file type. You have me lost when you say: "This
will be a very useful tool... and can be transferred to the jump drive
when we get the new BN." The disk drive cannot be used with the M
Powers, you'll have to buy a USB floppy disk drive. There is a
difference between the disk drive and a jump drive. A disk drive allows
you to transfer files from the BN or PC, to a floppy disk, then back to
the BN/PC. A jump drive, or thumb drive is a small USB device that
allows you to transfer files from one device to another via their USB
ports.

Subject: [Braillenote] HELP!!! disk drive issues

I am a teacher of the visually impaired and am teaching a student to use
the disk drive in conjunction with the BN. This will be a very useful
tool... and can be transfered to the jump drive when we get the new BN.

But we are having problems. We are able to get the drive connected and
are able to save files done on the computer to disk and can open them on
the BN. What we have not been able to do is start a file on the BN save
it to disk and then open it in Mircosoft Word. My guess it that the
problem lies in the translation of the document but we have been
unsuccessful in our attempts.

Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance,

Kimberly Higham, CCPS, TVI
