Hello All,
I'm really amazed how some on this list have short memories! Terri Pannet,
Kathy Davis and myself have been complaining about this expensive adapter
since October I think. I'm still awaiting the arrival of the infrared
parallel adapter which I ordered from Enabling Technologies for $72. I of
course hope this will work since it worked with previous models of the BN
according to Enabling. Jonathan considers this a minor inconvenience in
view of all that the M-power has. Should you get this Edgeport converter,
please describe it to us so we know more of what we might be getting if it
turns out to be our only option.

Karen,
No problem. I looked in my text copy of the manual, one huge file, for
the word converter. That's how I found it. I remembered Jonathan or Dean
mentioning something about a specific model, so that's why I doubt any of
the cheap ones will work.
$160 is still quite a lot for a cable, but better than the HW price.
BTW, I looked on www.dcables.com and couldn't find anything made by
Edgeport. If someone else has better luck, I hope they will let us know.

Sarah, I didn't know there was a model mentioned in the manual. I even
looked before I wrote to the list but I guess I didn't look in the right
place or something. Thanks a lot for the information.

Hi Karen and List,
Here is what I found at:
www.pagecomputers.com
EDGEPORT/421 4USB 2SERIAL 1PARALLEL DB9 USB CONVERTER

Manufacturer
DIGI INTERNATIONAL

This is the model specifically mentioned in the manual. There appear to be
many adapters on that site, most of them for much cheaper, but I doubt they
will work with an mPower.

Subject: [Braillenote] USB TO PARALLEL CONVERTERS
Hi, everyone,
I want to buy a USB to parallel converter for my husband for Christmas. He
is getting an MPower in January and I checked with Humanware about their
converters and they can sell me one for $235 but that's a lot of money for
just a cable. I need to find one online but I don't know exactly what to
look for. If someone could give me a model number or something to go on,
I'll be good to go. Thanks for the help in advance.
