I don't want to clutter the list with "I agree" messages, but I don't use speech, either, and that's one of the reasons, though the other reason is that I'm a Braille reader to my soul, so the chances are that I wouldn't use it much in any case, but I might use it a little more if I liked it. So having a choice would be something I would applaud.

Richard bravo personally I hate the speech to I don't like reading with
it so of course my book courier gets a real work out. Like you though
what I want is the choice.

I would love to see an alternative synthesizer offered. Keynote, for me
is the worst speech there is. Now, folks, before you fire up the flame
throwers, this is my opinion, I am not suggesting that Keynote go away,
I am suggesting that a 2nd speech synthesizer be added as a possible
option for those of us who simply don't like Keynote speech.
When I use a Braillenote, I never use the speech, because I find the
inflection and rhythm of the speech simply gets on my nerves.

Heavens, No! Leave the synth alone! It sounds good and it's response
is good.

Hi everyone. i've been lurking on the list for about a month now. I
don't have a bn yet, although I'm considering purchasing one. I have a
braille 'n speak 640, and would love something more current.
I just had a quick question for any humanware staff on list. I've heard

jonathon's mp3 talking about the MPower. My question is, is humanware
ever thinking of changing the speech synthesizer? I'm assuming the
synth in the bnMPower, and VNMPower is the same? Would you consider
using something like doubletalk or something similar?
the current synth reminds me of the franklin language masters.
just thought I'd ask, I enjoy reading the list.
Thanks,
Cheryl
