Jim, Whilst on the subject of "problems", are you having any trouble with your battery and have you had to recalibrate? Both Paul and myself certainly are having problems and I don't think either of us have properly solved them yet.
I sent a holding message to Paul just a couple of hours before switching on following an alarm and nothing happened. Again, after going through everything as before, I ended up doing an Engineers' reset, hence my recording settings being back to Defaults and my having to reset time and date etc., and probably other settings gone that I don't know about. We've now recharged the battery but can't calibrate until obviously the battery has gone down a bit. It's not much fun because we know that, once we've put anything very important on the mPower and used mail databases, got our Ambicard up and running, etc., we're likely to lose something as the battery just goes dead without warning. Please Jonathan, have you any comments to make on this? Do you think it likely that the mPower had been sitting around too long before we got it in our hands and charged up? (There appeared to be no problem at first - until the battery simply went without warning.) We are very loath to part with it so any further help would be much appreciated. -- Carol [EMAIL PROTECTED] -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jim Noseworthy Sent: Monday, August 15, 2005 4:45 PM To: Braillenote List Subject: Re: [Braillenote] Braille Note mPower recording problems. Hi Carol: Thanks much for taking the time to check the recording function of your mPower. I appreciate that all over the place. If anyone else, who has an mPower could check the recording quality in the default setting, I would appreciate it. Thanks all over the place gang. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Pearson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'Braillenote List'" <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, August 15, 2005 12:15 PM Subject: RE: [Braillenote] Braille Note mPower recording problems. Hi there Jim, I'm glad to be with you on list again! <SMILE> I've just tried recording for you using all defaults, which includes that volume setting, and found that for such a memo it is very acceptable to me. There is slight distaution but no more than I would expect. It may be that, given that some folk have hearing disabilities as well as sight, this could be a difficulty but isn't really for me. Hello Gang: I have noticed that when attempting to record a memo on my mPower BT18 using the internal microphone, the recorded data is distorted and un-usable when the volume level is 10 or greater. This presents a problem in that, by default, the internal record level is set at 12. Can anyone else varify if, indeed, this is a fact with all mPower units? Thanks all over the place gang. ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.humanware.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.humanware.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.humanware.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote
