Hi, Robert

As far as I understand from the manual, the simplest way is to create an
ASCII text file on the BN, and type in all the names of the files you want
to use in your playlist, one to a line.  Then you would save it as an .m3u
file, in the same folder (obviously available to the BN or on a storage card
placed in the BN) where the music files in the playlist are located.

Try it and see if it works.
