Kelly,
I don't think it is your drive. Are you using a different BN at work than
at home? If it is the same unit, you should be home free.

Hello again to all of you.
I put out the e-mail here on the list, and then called Tech Support in
California. i did it that way, because I figured I should cover all my
bases with the weekend coming up.
It would happen this way. (grin in amusement) The BN recognized the
"storage card" as it calls the disk drive just fine the first time
through. The gentleman showed me how to export the file as a Word file
right to the disk. That was cool to learn. But he said from what I told
him about what had happened at work it sounds like my drive is on its way
out. i think i'll have to switch completely to Compact Flash cards for
the BN now because of the cost of the drive in comparison to the about a
year of usage I"m getting out of it.

Hi Kelly. If you don't get the drive to work try a normal reset with no
keys held down and see if that fixes your problem. I think a 4 5 6 reset
will reset the flash disk you will net loose any data, but it will clear
out some of the temop files. Try it with no keys held down and see if
that works.

Hi folks,
I'm currently using hte External Disk drive available for the BN that
connects through the PCMCIA slot on the right hand side. i'm running
KeySoft 6.a, using a BT keyboard.
We are now trying to prove just how much the customers really rely on my
boss, Peggy, for answers to their questions. So, i'm writing down who
calls for her any time I answer a call for her even if I'm not taking a
message. I wrote everything down this week, starting with such detail I
think on Wednesday. I was getting ready to save the file to a disk as a
Microsoft Word file to load on the computer for printing. The idea was
good, but a no go. Once plugged in to the wall and the BN, the disk
drive let me take out the disk in it with no problem. I put in the disk
Peggy had given to me for these "phone log" files. I then pressed
s-chord as if I were saving the file. Next I pressed backspace twice to
move the the "drive" prompt. I pressed s for "storage card". The BN
responded taht the system cannon find the specified drive. I turned
everything off and tried a couple of more times.
After about 20 minutes of trying almost any combination of things I
could think of, short of any reset because I odn't understand the
difference between them, I told Peggy I'd have to bring it to her Monday.
I just got this External Disk Drive in June of last year and have only
used it 3 or 4 times. Which is because I haven't been backing things up
quite like I should, and when I have been have been backing up to some
compact flash cards one of my Uncles just gave me.
Can anybody rescue me????
