I think the patch is only for mPower users; not for the BrailleNote classic.

There's a patch? I had no idea! Could you possibly tell me where I
might find it? And I'm assuming it's a free patch, as i don't have
any SMA's left. Thank you so much!

There is no bn loan program from Humanware. From your post, I'm
assuming that you are using a Braille Note clasic and not an
MPower. What version of keysoft are you using? If you are using
keysoft6.11 have you downloaded the latest patch that is supposed
to help with the lock up issue? At 02:44 PM 11/27/2005, you wrote:
Hi Guys,
So lately my BrailleNote has been locking up a good deal. By
this I mean no keystrokes have any effect whatsoever, and even
when I turn the machine off, the display continues displaying
what it previously had on it. No amount of switching on and off
unlocks the BN at first, but usually after I plug it in and
switch it on and off a few more times, it automatically hard
resets and asks me to reset the clock. Obviously, I've tried
pushing reset to unlock it, but it's like it doesn't notice me
pressing Reset at all. Then, once I finally reset everything and
all that good stuff, unplug the BN and use it for awhile, it
locks up again. It usually locks up, strangely, whenI pick it up
and start to walk somewhere with it on. Is soemthign loose
inside, possibly? Is my reset button loose, maybe? Could my
battery be shot or something? I don't think it's that, just
because, as i said, when i plug it in, it doesn't respond
instantaneously and come back to life like it does when the
battery dies. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm going
back to school tomorrow and kind of need the BN to be behaving.
I'd hate to send it in, but if I have to, I live fairly close to
the BN Workplace, so I could. I was also wondering if, when and
if I do bring my BN in for service, i could get one loaned to me,
as I'm in school and I really, really need one with me in class,
as I don't want to use a Perkins, and I won't have access to my
notes or anything. I don't really care what kind of BrailleNote
it I get, as long as it's a BT, because I have no clue how to use
a QT. But hey, if I was given a PK or mPower to play with, that's
just fine and dandy with me. Grin. SO if any of you have an idea
on how the loan policy or lack thereof works, that would be good
for me to know.
Thanks again for any help.
Cheers,
Caitlin
