 Subject: Malinche's January Newsletter
----

Happy New Year!

With plenty of bubbly and Beluga, I brought in 2006 with a bang to celebrate
the many
milestones Malinche reached in 2005 with an eye on 2006. Thank you for being a
part of
it.

What have we been up to? Quite a lot! Here's just a brief rundown of what we've
done
recently and what we're doing now...

Out With the Old and In With the New
------------------------------------

Malinche is aging, thank goodness! And with age comes lots of news that all too
quickly
becomes old news. To that end, the annual news archiving has been completed.
All
news located at http://clicks.aweber.com/z/ct/?eDCeWxrcV_VlA_hSd09ugA has been
moved to the archives.

What are the archives and how do you get to them?

That's easy. Just scroll down to the bottom of the Malinche news page and
follow the
link to the page preceding it. Brave adventurers out there can explore the
history of
Malinche since inception with a great many pictures and comments along the way.
 Now
would be a great time to go retro with Malinche and see what we were doing
three years
ago compared to now.

As you walk through the corridors of time bear in mind I created Malinche with
just
a single inspiration back in in 1997, resumed my quest in 2002 and plowed ahead
from
there. It's been a wild ride and I thank you warmly for sharing the experience
with me.

On a reflective note, I'm more than a little surprised that Malinche is
celebrating
its third birthday this year. Pardon the cliche but time really does go by so
fast.

The last company that tried to publish Interactive Fiction failed within six
months.
Let's take a moment to pay homage to Implementer Mike Berlyn's Cascade Mountain
Publishing and then another moment to salute Malinche as it plows ahead to its
fourth
year.

While we're talking about new stuff and old, let me add that I loaded the
company
information page with a lot of new information documenting the history of
Malinche
and a bit of own life as well. Where's that? Over here....

Speaking of News...
-------------------

I hope you did (or do) visit the news page at
http://clicks.aweber.com/z/ct/?eDCeWxrcV_VlA_hSd09ugA
because you will see some astonishing news I posted on December 20th. The
skinny
goes like this: I'm not just working on Pentari: Second Dawn anymore. I'm also
working on Pentari: The Apprentice, yet another full-length Malinche adventure
as well
as a private project for a multinational advertising agency in New York City.

January is Mac Month at Malinche
--------------------------------

Despite the mad rush we experienced during the holiday shopping season, I made
it a
point not to ignore customer service the rest of the year. There's been an
ongoing
challenge with Apple Macintosh users installing our games. No longer. Maestro
Mike
Ferrador worked his magic and created Apple installers that work as easily as
our Windows
installers. Mac users of all of our products can now look forward to super
simple
installation of their new Malinche titles.

Class is Back in Session...Today!
---------------------------------

Free online chat sessions resume TODAY, January 7th 1:00 PM EST at Malinche's
own
chatroom. Each and every Saturday at 1:00 PM EST sharp I will personally host
a chat session where newcomers and oldtimers alike can shoot the breeze with me
and pose any question to me. I'll be happy to provide specific examples and
demonstrate how powerful my interactive fiction titles are and help you tap
into this
power and have some very serious fun in any and all of my titles.

Where's the chatroom? Over here --

Much more is ahead in 2006. Let's all look forward to the future in store for
all of
us with anticipation.

Wishing you all the best in this new year.
