Hi Jim, and Listers,

I don't know which brand of cards I have, but will find out. However, my son purchased a 1-gb card for me. We wanted to copy the GPS MAPS. It didn't work and I was told to get a Toshiba card. A VR Counselor gave me a 5-GB card that was recommended by Sendero GGroup. It worked great. The catc is that I was using the Classic BN, not the MPower.

I have about 5 512 MB cards that I've purchased at Best BUy. None have given me any trouble, but I only use them to download books.

In any case, as Jim observed, the discussion is interesting and makes me wonder how I can be so dense! I sould have asked the brand!

You know, some of you mentioned buying cards at Staples. Is that where you got the Sandisk? Where else can you get good cards?

I must say this card issue is certainly very interesting indeed. My wife and I have had two different ambicom cards and they both have been problematic at some time or other. My wife's ambicom card turned out to be the best of the two. I ordered the Sandisk card and have it in the back slot and it has been flawless for me. I was going to order one for my wife. A friend of mine is using the Sandisk card in his M-power and it has worked well. My card came with the PCMCIA adapter. have you tried it in the side slot to see if it would work? If you have been using the side slot, have you tried it in the back slot? As I say, the Sandisk Wy Fi card has been flawless in my unit. I don't know if pins are an issue or not. I'm not certain why some work so well and others don't unless there is a bad batch of cards out there. There might be problems with the slot as well, I really don't know.

Hello,
I had a sandisk combo wifi card and it worked the first time I inserted it and then it stopped working. I spoke to the person whom I ordered it and found that everyone he had just sold them to were having the same problem. I think it is the sanddisk so I would recommend trying the ambicom card for I have had no problems since I got it.

Wifi Cards seeming to die when used with the mPower. My first one died within a day, and the second one ordered from a different company but the same brand died within a week. When I say die I mean completely ceasing to work. Apparently a little light flickers once when you put the card in but then when you try and use it no visible network is detected. We've tried all the different resets and deleting and reconfiguring our connections with no luck. We also tried another mPower with the same results. It's getting kind of expensive and I want to order another card but am a little hesitant about trying a third Sandisk.
