Hi Rhonda

You bet. I did bring up the chapter on the address book and did a search on grade as in grade one, and it didn't find anything. LOL. So, I don't think it was mentioned in the chapter. But that does explain why I couldn't get the search to initially work, but now I know what to do. Space plus H just said enter the text. It doesn't say it has to be in grade one as it does when you are entering a record and get to the e-mail field or website field.

Yes, this is fun. And I don't mind playing around a bit to figure stuff out so, yes, it's lots of fun. The User Guide is actually very good, and there is only the odd error of missing tidbit of info.

But thanks for your support in figuring this tiny glitch out.

Jean

You know, I don't really know that you missed it. I just found out that when you enter information in grade two, it just beeps at you. Isn't this fun?

Hi Rhonda

Gee, I must've missed that in the section on using the Address Book. I
hadn't gotten to e-mail and stuff yet, so hadn't encountered the grade
one thing.

But thanks for clarifying that. So, it was kind of me! Smile. Glad
it's figured out now. Amazing what happens when you miss or forget one
thing you thought you knew or looked up.

No, you're not the limitation. It's like when you look up a name, it must be written in grade one. When you write a person's name to send
an e-mail to, it must be in grade one. Amazing, huh?

Subject: [Braillenote] Notes again

Hi Rhonda

Go figure. I played around some more with a criteria search in the
Address Book using just text entered in the Notes search field.
Bingo.
It worked this time. Oddly, though, it seems to be very particular
about how stuff is entered. Although I have my keyboard braille entry set to grade 2, entering text in the search field for Notes won't work
if you try grade 2. Hmm. But I entered test stuff in Notes in
various
records and the Notes search did work this time.

Earlier, I had entered the phrase Student ID in the actual Notes, and
then tried searching with the word student, or the word ID. When I
went
back and added the letter sign in front of ID in both the record and
then the search string, the search worked. Similarly, when I tried
typing the word in the search area using the st and en contractions,
it
wouldn't accept that. I don't know why as keyboard entry is set to
grade 2.

So, bottom line is that it does work but I don't know what the
limitations are. Now, maybe I'm the limitation. Smile.

Jean
