Hi,

Doesn't sound like you have a bad battery.

This message is an issue in keysoft 6.2 and if it goes away and you get a
percentage reading when you try the function again, I'd just ignore it.

One other thing: If you find the battery going down too rapidly, be sure to
remove any cards you may have in the pcmcia, compact flash, or sd card slots as
they will tend to draw extra power.

Finally, it doesn't hurt to go into the options menu, then the connectivity
menu, and then b for bluetooth and make sure bluetooth is set to no. This is
if
you're not using bluetooth ofcourse. Having bluetooth turned on can draw extra
power and you don't need it if you're not using it.

So, if all else works normally, don't worry about the message asking you to
recalibrate the battery.

Don

How does one know if they truly have a bad battery? Admittedly, these
are the first battery questions I have had a chance to look at. But, I
too, have received the "need to recalibrate" message several times
(probably four maybe five times and the unit is around a month give or
take). I usually just ignore it since checking a second time yields a
result.
