Sherry; Can you give me the right symbols to use for writing calculations on the BT. I am doing the nut sales again and I am finding a lot of dot 5s in my imfo. I did not put them in and the BT is calling them quotes I think? I can do the math in my head but I want to get the right format of brailling dollars, plus, equal, comma, semicolon. Maybe I will try calculating next time. I am afraid of loosing my data while I change to do the calculation. Terry Powers

It worked fine. Interesting. It's like in the address list, you can use number signs and in the calculator. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Powers, Terry (NIH/OD/DEAS) Sent: Wednesday, October 26, 2005 11:58 AM To: Braillenote List Subject: RE: [Braillenote] hotels and email They would have to be drop numbers since you do not use the number sign in computer braille. If you used a regular 9 it would be read as an i. I'm not as sure about the dropped numbers thing, since I use a QT BrailleNote. Try typing the 9 in the upper part of the cell and see if it works. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Sherry Gomes Sent: Wednesday, October 26, 2005 1:24 PM To: 'Braillenote List' Subject: RE: [Braillenote] hotels and email Do you have to type in dropped numbers? I don't think i've typed phone numbers in like that before. And is it all together with no spaces? thanks. I'm actually going to save this message as text and put it on one of my CFC's and have it with my braille note from now on. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Sarah Cranston Sent: Wednesday, October 26, 2005 10:49 AM To: Braillenote List Subject: RE: [Braillenote] hotels and email Hi Sherry, I hope I remember this right from using 5.1. It's the same for 5.0 and 5.1. Go to Key mail, into setup options, and into directory of services. Choose the service you want to modify. Press space until you come to the "phone number?" prompt, then press backspace with c. Put your cursor on the first number of the existing phone number, type dots 3-5, then type dot 6. This should place a 9 and a comma in front of the phone number. Finally, press space with e to add the record, then y to confirm changes, then space with e again to exit. Please let me know if this doesn't work or if you have any other questions. I'm still using dial up and have looked up the access numbers. But I always forget how to add the 9 for dialing an outside line from within a hotel. i go through this every single time I use my BN at a hotel! i can't ever find it in the manual either. Could someone please send me the directions to add the 9 to the dial up number, with a pause after the 9? Hopefully, that makes sense. I'm using a BN BT keysoft version 5, I think, but I might reinstall 5.1 today before i go. can't remember which version is more stable for email and don't want to crash my unit like the last time. thanks.
