Sarai
Okay. I'll get there. I haven't finished the chapter on addresses as
at the time I had absorbed enough to get up and running with that. But
I'll go back there to read more. Thanks.

Jean,
Data bases are in the chapter with the address list so there isn't a
chapter called data bases.

Thanks, Sarai
Like I said, I still have chapters to read, so I'll get to database
creation eventually. Thanks for the reassurance that it wasn't that
hard.

Look at chapter 10 in the manual. In general, its manipulating the
one
Humanware already has. Its kind of using their text document of the
address list file and putting what we want in it. I'm not a
programmer
and after two tries I had no problems doing it. I studied up on it
first though and worked with a copy of the existing data base. I
backed up my
address list first.

Just curious. In general terms, how do you guys create new
databases?
Is this a programming thing, or is it a kind of text file with
specific formatting? I haven't seen anything in the manual info
about
creating or editing databases, but I still have to read a number of
chapters. LOL.

OOH!
Smart move, I never thought about doing that!. I'm looking at
creating
a
music data base with fields such as
Artist
Album title
Release date
Record label
And that's all I can think of. LOL

Subject: [Braillenote] databases
Hi all:
Inspired by Sarai, I created a database for all of my user names and
passwords for various websites. I have my passwords all saved in my
e-mails, spread over 2 pc's and my BN, so now I've found them all
and
compiled them with this database. If anyone would like it, I would
be
happy to send it. I just have a question for you veteran database
writers out there. I want to be able to enter my user name and
stuff
all in grade 1... computer braille. I tried putting the G followed
by 0, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Anyone have ideas?
Thanks.
Desiree
