Actually when the unit came 3 weeks ago it was already set to California time which was different than our time. I had a problem this morning so wasn't able to set the thing and it is almost 100 out and I don't really want to go out there and fool around in this heat. Interestingly, I had a similar strange problem with the old Braille Note last summer when we were in Hawaii where the clock would not stay at whatever Hawaii uses for its time. We never did have a correctly set clock.

Isaac,

I am aware Mary Ellen is in AZ., but when you reset the unit, it defaults to
Pacific time which is the time zone for California. I thought maybe since
we are in DST right now, the unit might have come to Mary Ellen already set
for the time in CA.

I don't know how this works on the PK. ON my Voice Note I just change
the setting for DST from "yes" to "no" and synchronize the clock. I
was trying to help, and I didn't see where you stated you had the BN
clock option set to "no" for DST. I thought maybe it might have been
set that way at the factory, because California observes DST.

Mat if you had read my message it said that even though I do change
this to no the clock still insists upon changing me over to daylight
savings time.
