Hi Sarah, we have done some testing with a standard external modem connected to the serial port, and that is working as expected. The difficulty we have is of course that because the US uses different cell phone frequencies from the rest of the world, it's difficult for us to test one of the models now reported as not working. However we'll continue to see what we can do.

I used to be able to connect my phone to my BN via the serial port, and use it as a modem to go online and download Email. This no longer works, ever since I had my Braille display transferred into an mPower. I don't believe it actually has anything to do with Verizon itself, it was just idle speculation. I'm hoping something can be changed in the software that controls the serial port. > ----- Original Message ----- >From: Katie Frederick <[EMAIL PROTECTED] >To: Braillenote List <[email protected] >Date: Tue, 08 Nov 2005 18:20:48 -0500 >Subject: RE: [Braillenote] Buying an SD card vs. a new cell phone >Are you trying to do something with a Verizon phone and the BrailleNote?
