Hi Jonathan and all:

With my mPower placed on a standard office desk while speaking in a normal voice, I am not able to adjust the internal mike volume past 45.db. At 46.5DB, the voice is really distorted; while anything higher than 46.5db cannot be understood at all.

What do you think?

Hi Carol, no problem.

From the Main Menu, choose the Media Center. Then press r to record a memo.
You will then hear "start recording using X" where X is internal or
external microphone depending on how you've configured the options. At this
point, you can use space with dot 6 and space with dot 3 to make minor
adjustments to the levels. To test the effect this is having, press T.
You'll hear the recording beep, and you can say a few words, or for that
matter, sing a few lines if that takes your fancy. Then you can press t
again to stop recording. Press P to play the test back. Continue this
process until your levels are how you want them, then go ahead and press Y
or the record button to start the actual recording.

Jonathan,

I recall you touched on this in your demo, indicating that you could
increase/decrease by very small increments. I don't recall the
specifics and haven't done it yet so, go on, tell us all! Thanks!

Hi Casey, do you know about the cool test recording feature in the
recording options? This is a really quick and easy way to make fine
adjustments. I can explain further if you want.

It can really take some fiddling with the recording's settings to get it
just right. I had to try it probably about 10 times before I got the
right settings. Original message:
Hello Gang:

I have noticed that when attempting to record a memo on my mPower BT18
using
the internal microphone, the recorded data is distorted and un-usable
when
the volume level is 10 or greater. This presents a problem in that,
by default, the internal record level is set at 12.

Can anyone else varify if, indeed, this is a fact with all mPower
units?

Thanks all over the place gang.
