Hi again Terri,

I understand where you are coming from but I think this is as good as it gets for a while. I think I could do that sort of thing with the older Blazie products but their system wasn't reliable. I have been happier with the Braillenote Family of Products till we had to get the adapter and I haven't tried it yet. I'll probably have time to do so tonight.

I should clarify one point. When I used a single sided embosser, my embossing started right away. When I used the Juliet with interpoint embossing, I had to start the process twice. This was especially true with a long document.

Dear Jim,

I understand what you are saying about embossing specific pages and blocks,
but I want to be able to do all of my embossing with the document open.
It's so nice to be able to see the document so you don't have to keep
opening and closing the document. Besides, you wouldn't have to remember
what page number you want to emboss if there was an "emboss current page"
feature in the menu. You could use the go to command to find the page and
emboss it.

I always emboss documents while they're open using my PC and DBT Win and I
would like to be able to do the same thing with the MP.

: Hi Terri and list,
:
: I got mine yesterday as well. I'm still trying to figure out how to hook
: it up and will work on it when time permits. It is a nice looking ruggid
: device. Paying $72 or so is much better than $160 or $250.
:
: Start the embossing process in the usual way. The BN will prompt you for
: the file you wish to emboss. Once that is selected and you press enter,
: the BN will say embosser ready? Type N for No instead of Y for yes. You
: will be presented with some new prompts. First page to emboss, last page
: to emboss to end of document? You can enter which specific page or pages
: you wish to have embossed. Once entered, you will get the Embosser Ready
: prompt? Type Y for Yes and you will get your specified pages embossed.
If
: you have individual pages to be embossed, as pages 7 and 8, pages 15 and
: 16, you will need to emboss these two at a time when using an interpoint
: embosser or one at a time for a single page embosser. You could paste a
: paragraph in the clipboard and save that to a file and have your embosser
: emboss that new file. It would not be a perfect answer but it could be
: done. Usually if the embossing stops early, or paper jams, I simply
emboss
: the pages which didn't emboss at the first.
:
: My embosser never started right away even when I was using a parallel
: cable. I'd always need to clear the buffer of the embosser again and
start
: the process once again. I'd usually emboss the second time around so the
: problem may be how the M-power communicates with many embossers, I really
: don't know for certain. I'll have more to say once I get my infrared
: adapter going.
:
: Glad to hear it is working!
