Hi, Peggy and all: The first time, I had had the Mpower for about five days. I noticed that the battery seemed to be draining pretty quickly. I honestly now don't quite recall the series of events except that, in a nutshell, I got a battery low warning (not a battery critical warning), so I decided to recharge it after carefully following the directions to do so. After letting it charge awhile, over three hours, I got no response from the device. Couldn't get a response when attempting to reset it, nothing. Another Braille Note owner came over to help me out. The person gently pressed the reset button, and the danged thing actually popped out. So I had no choice but to send it back.
The second time I sent it back was because I couldn't get a response from the notetaker when I turned it on. I'd just gotten it back and was working with it. I started a new document and realized I wasn't getting anything on my braille display. I turned off the unit, turned it back on. Nothing. I'd had the device for less than a day. I called tech support and was able to do a reset of sorts but kept getting some weird message about factory test. And some emssage about resetting the time. When I attempted to input any braille, or start speech, or do anything, nothing would happen. So the tech support folks were quite bumfuzzled, so off it went again for repairs. So here I wait, with somewhat baited breath and trepidation. But I do think my case is not so usual. Heck, when I got my Braille Lite (remember those things) back in the 90's, I went through six of them before they got it right! I figure I just have some bad karma with not-takerss. Smile. But I'm still full of hope, and Peggy, try not to worry too much. I figure maybe we're being pioneers and we're helping those who come after us by getting over all these bugs firs. Okay, I have to make lemonade out of these lemons somehow, right? Sorry for the long post, but that's basically how it's been.
