Man, I hope no one stars making them. Some, like, blindie-hater or something. That would be horrendously bad for everyone.

I can tell you that this is, without a doubt, *NOT* caused by a virus. I've seen the flash disk go bad on several BN/VN units, and it's one of those nasty computer things that just happens. The BrailleNote family is not subject to any of the standard viruses out there. The only virus that can attack a BN would be one designed to run under Windows CE. It seems people just aren't writing these viruses, so for now, the BN family is immune to viruses.

Hi Kiran,
You, and the owner of the BN QT, have my deepest sympathy. I've been up the same road and couldn't tell you WHY the Flash Disk took a hike! Not being a BN Nerd, like some of you guys, my guess is that it was a virus, sent, either via an e-Mail or during an Internet session. Which brings me to a question. Where is the Anti-Virus Program in the BN!

Yes, but the problem started to appear before I borrowed the unit and so
that's not my fault.

I would guess whoever had this unit would have to send it back
in. Did I read right, that someone borrowed this unit?

I saw that. does this mean the unit needs to be sent in for
repairs?

Rhonda,
does that mean the unit is no longer useful until It goes in for
repairs?

Sorry, but the Flash Disk is gone. That unit won't help you,

Subject: [Braillenote] BN QT reset question

Hi all,

I borrowed a Braille Note QT 32 for a few months from a friend.
When I got
it from him though, the flash disk was not accessible. I think
it basically
means that I can't use the planner, email and the internet. The
manual on
the device is also missing. I do have the Keysoft 6.11 compact
flash disk. I
inserted it in the unit and pressed the reset button for 5
seconds. But it
came up saying that the flash disk is not available and asked me
to press
the reset button with no keys pressed. I did this but the result
is the
same. I suppose there is a JKL and 123 reset but I can't
understand the
purpose of these two. I tried both though with no luck.

Is there a way I can get back the flash disk? Any help in this
regard is
greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Kiran Kaja
