Well, yes, I remember seeing that, but we did probably three charges and our battery still wasn't behaving. Hope yours is by then.

The next time I checked it, though, it said it couldn't give me a percentage. It was very soon after I got the 55% reading. I used it for a long time after that, thinking I'd get the low battery warning, but I didn't. When I did get the low battery warning, I was only able to read l-o-w b-a-t... before it went flat. So I'd say I had no warning of the flat status. But it just occurred to me that somewhere, either on this list or elsewhere, I seem to remember hearing that it would take a few charges and discharges for the battery to behave. I wonder if I'm imagining that or if there's any truth to that. With mine we aren't going down to the last 10% or nothing like it. Again, though, we are crashing either immediately after "Battery Low" or very, very soon afterwards. I'd certainly wait for some directive if I were you. Glad you're happy enough as things stand. -- Carol [EMAIL PROTECTED] -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jean Menzies Sent: Monday, August 29, 2005 4:25 PM To: Braillenote List Subject: Re: [Braillenote] problem turning on mPower Okay, Carol. It said in the User Guide that the battery was already calibrated at the factory, and when I used space with I and then A it said the calibration was accurate. Does that Accurate then mean nothing? It did work for a long time before going flat which impressed me, but I didn't get the low battery warning I was expecting. But thanks to Dean, I am back up and running. Oh, I got the impression that the machine automatically did the calibration, and that the only time it would be necessary to manually calibrate it was as the battery aged. Are you saying differently? We've been through this with our mPower. I won't write more on list apart from to say that Dean is getting it sorted. We haven't yet lost anything but have had to use the reset Dean suggested almost every time. The next step for you may well be to calibrate your battery, but by all means wait for instruction from Dean if you wish. A few of us found that you need to get your battery down to about 90% before starting to calibrate. Somehow we didn't get it to work with a "supposedly full" battery. Hope this helps a little. -- Carol [EMAIL PROTECTED] -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jean Menzies Sent: Sunday, August 28, 2005 11:53 PM To: Braille Note list Subject: [Braillenote] problem turning on mPower I've had my Mpower BT for three days now and have my first unsolvable problem. When I first unpacked it, I plugged in the AC adapter and let it charge until it said 100%. Then I removed the charger and have been using it while reading the built-in User Guide and experimenting with the Word Processor. Based on what I had read on the battery, I thought I would get a Low Battery warning and then a Critical Battery warning before the unit went flat. However, I was reading something and the Low Battery warning popped up and then the unit immediately seemed to shut down. The display faded and there was nothing. I did shut it off at that point. Then I plugged in the AC adapter but the unit did not come back to life. I waited a while, turned the switch to off and back on, but still nothing. I tried the reset button on the left. Then I tried pressing dots 4-5-6 and pressing reset. Still nothing. Did I really do something wrong here?
