Sarah:

That's an interesting statement because if you truly believe that then
this whole discussion is worthless because the answer would then be get
a laptop. Laptops have phone diallers telnet capabilities and the
ability to scan and the list goes on and on.

As what has already been said its personal preference yours is important
to you however mine is to me just for example because you happen to like
the speech doesn't make the concerns of the rest of us invalid it only
means that all of us use our devices in different ways.

Having said that maybe humanware should raise the price by about 5000 go
out and hire 1000 programmers and give everyone what they want. Trouble
is that nobody would buy it because they can't afford it. This list
represents only a small group of users and in four years I have seen
many changes that have come from this list on the other hand I have seen
the same complaints being brought up by a select few who have there own
requirements.

Its important to remember the humanware is in business being in business
means you must meet the needs of as many as you can because if you can't
make a product that you can sell you won't be around for long at all.
Just look at telesensory at one time the absolute leader in adaptive
technology as big as any company today but they aren't there any longer.

If humanware believes that the majority of users would prefer to have a
choice in what speech they want then they will give it to them and it
won't matter in the end. I think that all most people want is the
ability to make some choices and not necessarily be dictated by a few
who happen to express themselves loudly. The fact is that the majority
is truly silent.

Finally and this I believe is important to remember your needs as a
student are not what your needs may be when your working. If in order to
do your job you need access to excel PowerPoint along with a host of
other programs are you going to say sorry can't do that I need to use my
BN. I don't think so many companies for security reasons won't even let
a BN. Connect to there networks it doesn't have a firewall or a virus
checker and it doesn't support Html in e-mail.

Having said all that I love my own units and use them all the time but
not for work except as strictly a portable note taker for meetings.

Have a good day and never stop discussing.

I agree, if you want eloquence, get a Pack Mate.

Hi,

All Humanware would need to do for that, would be to resurrect Keynote
Gold for Windows XP. I wish they would do that. The software Keynote
Gold was exceptional speech in its time, and I used to use it with
Window-Eyes, but because of Pulsedata, as they were then, insisting on
using a now ancient method of copy protecting it, you can't now use it
under Windows XP. If they got rid of Everlock, and did a little
development, and resurrected it for XP, you could use it for JAWS,
Window-Eyes, or whatever you wanted to use it with. I would prefer them
to do this, than to put Eloquence, a much inferior synth, into the
Braillenote.

Just my opinion.

All the best

I love the BN's speech better than Jaws, infact, I wish Humanware would
market their speech in to a screen reader.

Oh, I don't know, I like eloquence, but I also do like the keynote
speech engines as far as pronunciation.peech quite a bit. It's
definitely one of the more accurate

Hi,

Maybe now since we have the m-power machines. Maybe it would be possible
to add the multilingual eloquence as an option for speech software on
the braillenote that could run with KeySoft?
