That line indicator has been that way ever since I had a braillenote.  It 
is computer braille dollar sign P.  A page break is dollar sign F for form 
feed.  .  That soft line return is dollar sign L.  If you wish, you can 
eliminate these indicators by changing your braille display to indent one 
or two.  I'm about to edit a document and these indicators are the best 
friend I'll ever have!  I didn't invent this, I'm just saying this is how 
it has been ever since I had a braillenote.
