They do, indeed, both have space keys, and this is where a lot of the confusion comes from when people are trying to memorize commands, or come up with that ever-so-seldom-used command which they really need right now. [Smile] I originally stuck this thought in my head: You never use the space bar on a regular computer with any other key, and the QT is the same. The BT, of course, is like any other notetaker with a Braille keyboard, in that it uses the spacebar to modify pretty much every Braille character for use in the command structure. I'm glad this tip helped you.

I knew the part about the red key and the control key, but QT has a space just like us. Thanks again Terry -----Original Message----- From: Sarah Cranston [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, July 27, 2005 10:02 AM To: Braillenote List Subject: RE: [Braillenote] managing email on the BN Any time someone mentions a command that includes the space bar, such as [space with dots 2,6], this is for the BT. The QT doesn't use the spacebar for a modifier. Instead, if you hear someone say [control with enter], or [read with i], you know it has to be a QT. Just one of those little things I use to keep it all straight in my head. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Powers, Terry (NIH/OD/DEAS) Sent: Wednesday, July 27, 2005 8:58 AM To: 'Braillenote List' Subject: RE: [Braillenote] managing email on the BN Brenda, are you BT or QT? Your directions are good if their for the BT. First of all before I download any large mail session or any email for that matter, I make sure all dataspace is freed. Now I've gotten them. Okay, so I'm reading them one by one. I send emails to the appropriate folders if I want to keep them. Sometimes I just never open an email. I just read what intersts me. I no longer delete them one at a time. I just do what I want to do all through, either just passing them by without opening, reading, replying, and leaving outgoing email in the outbox. Once I've gotten through them all, everything is read and sorted. Remember that wen you move something to another folder, it's taken out of the email box. So now I'm a happy camper. Everything is where I want it to be. Now I'm in my inbox. I move to the top, use an e n-sign-chord (dots two five with the space bar), and space over until it says mark all email; those are the ones in the inbox. After you hit return on that, it tells you how many emails are marked. Now you hit that e n chord again (dots 2 6 with the space bar) choose delete all email from this foulder by spacing to this option and by returning on it. The system will delete them. After that you can exit following the promts and answering yes or no to the prompts; you're certainly not sending emails yet. Empty the trash and free up data space. Yeah, but what if an email needs an answer right now, and you've only read halfway? Choose the reply option by the normal way and go from there. Well, that's simple. You can exit until the system says send an email? Well, you answer y for yes connect it to your dial up, and answer the prompts. That mail will go without you having to download a thing. You can finish your business with the rest of the emails, delete them, empty trash, free data space, and go on your way. I usually charge it up while I'm sleeping. If not, I can charge it while reading. I hope you understood what I said and that it helps. Take care of your little guy, and he will take care of you. If I come across a message I wish to keep, I just leave it as is in the inbox. I usually receive anything from 150 to 200 messages per day, and since I am using dial-up, these are usually downloaded in less than 10 minutes. The most emails I had to download during one particular session was around 650 or so, using Keysoft 5.1, and this took just over an hour, as a lock-up occurred in the process. >David >> ----- Original Message ----- >>From: "Vicky Collins" <[EMAIL PROTECTED] >>To: "Braillenote List" <[email protected] >>Date: Mon, 25 Jul 2005 21:41:31 -0500 >>Subject: [Braillenote] managing email on the BN >>Hi All, >>How do you all manage your email on the BN?
