Okay, I knew I missed a few things and there would be some confusion, but no problem.

1. I know that you can use the block commands in the address list, but there is no way to copy just the field of the record you are in without a template, and making a template for every database can get annoying.

2. On a computer (yes, I understand the BN is not a computer) when you open a folder, you can view the folders in it without switching to subdirectory mode, and the folders are not listed without slashes. Basically, to be able to press backspace from a list of documents and view just the next level up of folders instead of the long string of a name that you have to edit.

3. Thought that one was far fetched (lol)

7. You cannot really have more than two files open and switch between them without more than two keystrokes. If I am editting a file on my flash card, a file on my flash disk, and a file on my keysoft disk, I can switch between two of them with ou-cord enter, but as soon as I want to access the other, I have to move to the folder level, the drive level, back to the folder level, maybe a subdirectory, and back to the file list.

8. From what I understand (correct me if I am wrong) there is a difference in layout and print layout. When you use layout mode, you are viewing the layout, which would be embossed. If I am working in a grade 2 file I wish to print, how can I view what the print layout is?

10. In documents translated from a text document, there are often markers that appear as ed sign, f, m. They cannot be taken out using find and replace because there isn't a code for them, as far as I know. If you would like, I can send an example. They interfere with find and replace. They go away if you save in .brl, .brf, or .txt, but you also lose other formatting that you might not want to lose.

11. When I change my mode to layout, it stills displays the grade change markers. Also, even if it didn't, layout displays spaces and other formatting I might not want or need to view.

14. Funny, that doesn't work for me. Also, speaking of things that don't work, is there supposed to be hot keys, such as backspace v, for paste and things like that? I've heard about them before, but they've never worked for me.

15. For me at least, when I am reading a list of files in the directory and go to the top and press backspace, it takes me back to the drive list without stopping at the folder level.

17. Another one that does not seem to work for me.

18. I suppose that's personal preference.

22. Thought this one would bring up questions. When I do this, it displays the messages it shows in computer Braille as well. Never mind; I've found that if you insert a calculation and take out the grade 1 indicator, but not the grade 0 indicator, it will display every thing after that point in grade 0; just make the indicator not show now.

Thanks for your reply. I enjoy discussing these things.

Thanks for the information. Also, I do have a few suggestions for
KeySoft. Please understand that I do not expect these to come out in
KeySoft and that I do not know what KeySoft is capable of. I also admit

that some of these might be a little far fetched.

1. Being able to use the block commands in places such as find and
replace,
the address list, web addresses, and the information boxes in email The
block commands can be used in the address list, but they perform
different functions.

2. A better folder system Expand on that.

3. The BrailleNote insert dots 46 for italics and underline when going
from
computer Braille to grade 2 Can't, its an entirely different code, or
you could always change the display mode.

4. Instead of trying to set up defaults for what a paragraph is and how
to
change the spacing, just translating a document as it is You can, play
with the format options in the document, look at chapter 7 of the
manual.

5. Having tabs that don't indent the whole paragraph, but just the first

Line Possible, again, play with the format menu, look at chapter 7.

6. The ability to search across files, good suggestion.

7. Being able to open more than two documents and switch between them
without multiple keystrokes Can be done already.

8. Being able to view the print layout as well as the embossed layout
from a
Document Change Braille display mode to layout.

9. Putting back into the system the Braille translation table and
allowing
multiple character symbols to be assigned in the unicode table See the
last part of chapter 7 of the manual.

10. Being able to remove the format markers (the ones that come up as fm
and
theres no code to type for them) Not sure what you mean, change Braille
display to automatic.

11. Being able to hide the grade change markers Change display to
layout.

12. Being able to open files from the directory

13. Being able to protect and unprotect files from the wordprocessor and

book reader

14. The file manager being considered a task so it can be switched in
and
out of without going to the main menu backspace enter f.

15. When you press back space to back a level from reading the file list
in
the directory, it not jump directly to drive, but stop at the folder
level Haven't noticed this.

16. The creation of macros

17. The two modes for running down the battery override hybernate mode
Supposed to.

18. When you press end of file in a list, it takes you to the last item
in
the list instead of the end of list message I like end of list message.

19. Being able to set the alarm without having an appointment,
displaying a
message for the alar, and being able to have a silent alarm Your not the
first person who's suggested this.

20. the stopwatch working as a timer as well as a stopwatch Like this
one too, again, your not the first to want this.

21. an undo command Hmm, good point.

22. Being able to tell the BrailleNote you wish to view a text document
in
computer Braille, but still view everything else in grade 2 (the
messages it
displays) Change the display setting to display in computer Braille.

Please let me know if any of the things are confusing. I apologize for
writing so many.

Hi,

Humanware is always open for suggestions for improving keysoft. The
thing
to remember is that some suggestions can't be implemented due to
limitations in the
keysoft software and/or in windows ce itself, but they seem very good
about listening to what customers want.

As for using cf cards in the pcmcia slot, you can purchase adapters
which
will allow you to do this. I recently got a few at radio shack, but
you
should also be
able to find them online and probably cheaper.

The ones I got were about $11 each at radio shack. You do have to be
a
little careful though when inserting the cf card into the adapter to
be
sure you put
the card in correctly. If you put it in upside down, you can bend the

pins in the adapter and make it unusable. So, it's a good idea to
mark
the adapter with tape
or something so you know which is the top side.
