Sherry,
Card readers can be plugged in to the USB port of your computer or they
can be added to the computer when you buy a new one or added to an older
one if you want.
As for plugging and unplugging computers and bns I don't bother. I just
use multiple outlets and plug all units in the same wall outlet, but I
only use one at a time so it's no problem. I have three computers hooked
up to the same wall outlet and Inever unplug a single one. No if I want to
test something, I simply plug it in the extra outlet I have. I have one
outlet with five plugs on it. so I just use one of those for test
purposes.
Now in the bedroom, I have a phone and a signaling system hooked up to the
same outlet. I can put an additional multiple plug in there and hook up a
braillenote if I wanted to use it for email, but since I don't, I don't
bother with the additional outlets.
You can buy a card reader fo fifteen bucks.
