you'd have to get a wireless router and wireless card or a ethernet card for your braille note. I haven't a clue as to how much those things would cost you.

Hi, Peter: Yes, I understand the cable part. Is dial up
offered? I know your pc must plug in to your cable box. I would
imagine that box has jacks on it, a little bigger than a phone
jack.

Peter, you have a pc. You said you have cable. What does it go
through?
Sorry for not understanding.

I assume you have a router then. If the router has an antenna,
you could go wireless. You would either need to get a wireless
card, or a ruggedized ethernet card, with the cable on the end.
Then, you'll be good to go.

Hi Peter:
I'm sending this, hoping it will help you somewhat.
When setting up any new account information, do the following:
 1. From the Main Menu, press E, S, D, A. You will see "entry
list of
Directory of Email Accounts".
 2. Press Enter.
 3. "Account Name" is the first field. Put anything here that
will help
you identify it.
 4. Press Enter.
 5. "User Name" is the next field. Put the first part of your
e-mail
address in, up to the "at" part.
 6. Press Enter.
 7. "Password" is the next field. If your password includes
numbers, put
them in lower case.
 8. Press Enter.
 9. "Your name" is the next field, so put that in.
 10. Press Enter.
 11. "your e-mail address" is the next field, and the whole
e-mail address
is needed. If there are numbers, lower case numbers are
required.
 12. Press Enter.
 13. "pop server" add this entry.
 14. Press Enter
 15. "smtp server" put this in.
 16. Press Enter
 17. "smtp authentication required"? This is set to "no" but
some ISP'S
require them.
 18. Press Enter.
 19. Press dot 2-6 chord to add the record.

(Connectivity Side)
 1. From the Main Menu, press Option, C, C.
 2. "Entry list for connection configurations" is the first
field seen.
 3. Press Enter.
 4. "Connection configuration name" is next, so write in
whatever you'll
remember. You can name it "dial up" or "DSL", since this is the
type of
connection.
 5. "Device to use" is next. If you are using dial up, you can
just press
Enter. However, if it is an ethernet card, press dots 3-4-chord
until you
see "ethernet network connection". You can press Enter here.
(note: If you are using DSL, you can skip down to step 14).
 6. If you are using dial up, add your phone number here and
press Enter
 7. If you are using dial up, you will be asked for your
"service user
name". Once again, add this information.
 8. "Password is next, if you have dial up.
 9. "Software compression" is next, and is normally set to
"yes."
 10. "Use IP header compression"? This is usually set to "yes".
 11. "Log onto network"? This is usually "no", unless you are
using it in
conjunction with your PC.
 12. "Wait for dial tone"? Generally, this is set to yes, but
it is up to
you.
 13. "Additional modem configurations"? You should just be able
to press
Enter.
 14. "Obtain an IP address automatically"? This is generally
"yes", though
your setting is "no". If that is the setting, just press Y and
press ENTER.
 15. Generally, you can press dot 2-6 Chord to add the record,
unless you
are required to use a "proxy server", or a "DNS address."

Wireless
If you are using a wireless connection, do the following:
 1. Put your wireless card in.
 2. From Main Menu, press Options, C, W.
 3. You will see "wireless card active; currently no."
 4. Press Y for yes.
 5. Space down to "scan for a network"?
 6. Press Enter.
 7. You will see "list of available connections."
 8. Once you see it, press the Space bar to see a connection.

 9. You will be placed into the "configuration items list." The
only thing
you'll have to enter is your configuration name.
 10. Press Enter. The SSID and all other settings should go
into their
default values.
 11. If you do not use WEP or other security, you should just
be able to
save the configuration "as is", since the BN should pick up these
settings
from the router.
 12. Press dots 2-6 Chord to add the record.
