Hi Miranda and others;
He may have been talking about an ac adapter but an ac adapter and a charger
are not the same thing. A charger is a box with an electrical plug that you
put batteries in and plug it in and they will recharge. They have to be
rechargable. I know because I used one through out my school years, because I
recorded many classes.
An ac adapter also charges the battery, with in the unit, usually, but one is
for removable batteries and the other is not.

Hi!
As far as I've always known, an Ac adapter is the same as a charger. The
only difference is that you can't take the battery out of the BN, so you use
the alternative of plugging it in.
I hope that helps.

In Christ, Miranda

What do you mean by charger. We use an ac adapter not a charger. Our
battery is not chargeable like those you take out and put in a charger and
put back in a machine.
Please explain.

This is Joseph. BrailleNote Classics and PK should not
be connected to the charger while calibrating.
Connecting charger during calibration applies to
mPower units only. While calibrating the battery BN
will discharge itself, and when the discharge is
completed, you should connect the charger for about 3
hours. I hope this information may help you.
