Hi Sherry; Your case sure is a good example of where the loan program would be very helpful. I wish you great success in your new job and I sure hope you get your unit back soon. Rose; Instead of complaining, look at the bright side. You have 2 units. Many can not even buy one. If you can not be patient and wait your turn, what would you do if you were in sherry's shoes. I say you are a very lucky person and take it up with the office if you are worried about your unit. I am not trying to stir up any trouble, but just letting you know that there are always others out there, worse off then us. Have a happy 2006. Terry Powers

My rehab counselor's AT person picked it up that week and sent it off overnight mail to be transplanted and all that. Well, I'm going to start the fifth and last week of my training on Monday, and then I will begin doing the real job, and i still haven't had my BN to work with, to take notes with, to write reminders ... and all the rest of the ways it could have helped me on the job, not to mention the everyday things i use it for. i don't say this as a complaint to Human ware, since the holiday weeks were right in the middle of this time. however, I have no other note taking device, not even a tape recorder anymore, and I have been very unhappy to be without it for so long. Not to mention the fact that there are things I have to read to customers every time I speak to a customer, and it would be a lot better to be able to access them in braille, than on the computer, listen to jaws read each line and then repeat it back to the customer. I can't memorize them, because they change frequently, and if I omit one aspect of this disclosure procedure, I can be penalized at work. So, I am sad without my BN, and I feel a little bad when I hear of people with multiple devices. nothing personal of course! just that I do sympathize with JM. sherry -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jeanne-Marie Moore, MSW/LCSW Sent: Friday, January 06, 2006 11:15 PM To: Braillenote List Subject: RE: [Braillenote] Transplant You know what? Maybe it's just me, but for all of you who have braillenote back-ups, hard versions you can hold in your hands, as back-ups somewhere, could you please smile to yourselves? Because the rest of us are dealing with ever having become dependent upon such an expensive and need to return so quickly item okay? It messes up our work, school, and calendar, and it's not pleasant to read about all these people who are that lucky to have two, three, whatever number, available. Sorry but I'm hurting re my loss I guess. j-m. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Rose Combs Sent: Friday, January 06, 2006 8:21 AM To: 'Braillenote List' Subject: RE: [Braillenote] Transplant Yes, well I am beginning to get worried but, fortunately I have the BN 32 which I usually keep at work, so I don't have to suffer complete Braille Note withdrawal. But, I am luckier than you. I was told that they would be calling me in mid-December to send my classic bn in for the transplant operation. I would be in crisis if I was without the unit for seven weeks. I would call them with an attitude in the morning.
