Pam, I just have to ask, is Monticello the one in Minnesota? I live in Cottage Grove Minnesota and have of course been in Monticello many times. I might even know what radio stations work there. :-) If your not comfortable telling me that's okay, though.
About the crackling speech problem: If you have a soundblaster card and the drivers for it that are made by Creative Labs there is a patch you install to turn off "turbo mode". If this is a problem for you I can send you the pach file off list. There is also some problem that is sometimes solved by something available from Gateway, but I don't really know anything about it. You can write to [EMAIL PROTECTED] to ask about it and they will send you links and some basic directions. Of course there is no guarantee that either will actually solve the problem, since it didn't help me any, but it obviously worked for some people.
