Subject: Re: [Braillenote] multi tasking
I am a BT user and can help with a list of some of the shortcuts
available for switching tasks. By the way, I have noticed that
the keyboard learn mode doesn't actually give all the commands
that are available, which I find very odd. Dots 2-3-5, that's
dropped f, with space will give you the tasks menu, but the
keyboard learn feature won't tell you this. I think it does
report the rest of the task switching shortcuts, however. I may
miss some, but just test the command you suspect will work and it
probably will, since they follow a patern.
Word processor - backspace with Enter and W
Planner - Backspace with Enter and P
Book reader - Backspace with Enter and B
Media player - Backspace with Enter and M
Address list - Backspace with Enter and A
Another useful command is Space with O, which you certainly are
familiar with, to open the options menu, then N to view next
appointment. Note that if you have speech off and your display
set to anything but 0 as a display time it will be impossible to
read enough of the message to see what your next appointment
actually is. The whole message doesn't fit on the display even
if you have a 32 cell display.
I heard that it was possible to play your last recorded memo
while in another application, but I haven't been able to find the
command. If someone knows I'd love to hear it. for that matter,
I haven't found the command to stop and start playing any media
file while in another application, and the commands might be the
same.
Oh, if you just want to switch files in the book reader or word
processor you can press dots 1-2-5-6, that's an O U sign, with
Space.
Thanks Robbert for the nice message. I was afraid I made a very
bad impression when I first joined the list. I don't know if I
was abnormally grouchy then, or if I just wasn't writing my best
at the time. :-) I do try to write productive messages not fits
or garbled messes. :-)
Hopefully no one is confused with there being at least to Sarahs
on this list. Sarah Cranston writes a lot of very helpful
messages. I notice she is a QT user.
